You have announced yourself, I never said so. One day Krishna put up a drama. Krishna told others I have a headache. His wife put a bandage on his head to reduce pain but it didn't work. No medicine worked to get rid of his pain. His wife prayed to Krishna to get rid of his own headache. Krishna said only if I get the dust of the feet of a devotee and put it on my forehead will I get rid of my headache. Krishna called Narada. You announce that you are a devotee of the Lord, then give me the dust of you feet and put it on my head. I am worried that I am not a great enough devotee; therefore, I can't do it. I will get sin if do it because I don't really quality. Rukmini said the same. I am not worthy and I will be incurring sin. Krishna said now Narada go and meet the Gopikas and ask them in Brindavin. Narada told them Krishna is suffering from a headache. Gopikas cried and said we will do anything to stop Krishna's suffering. Immediately the Gopikas rolled on Earth and gave the dust to Narada to give to Krishna. Narada said that if you put dust of your feet on Krishna you will to hell. We know nothing about heaven and hell. If Krishna is suffering that is hell for us. You put this on Krishna's head and come tell us if the headache is gone. Narada returned and put the dust on Krishna's head and the headache was gone. Those who are near to God are not always dear to God. It is imagination for those near to think that they are dear. The Gopika because of their devotion didn't worry about hell or heaven. These are true devotees. They did not do this for their own happiness. There are four categories of devotees. Wisdom seekers are the greatest. They don't go for fulfilling worldly desires. They want to go and enjoy bliss and share it with others. There is no selfishness in their desires. These are dear to me. Two things mark a true devotee. Love all, serve all, and selfless love and selfless service with no expectations of gain. They see no differentiation between people. Students should not evaluate their own test papers. It is up to the teacher to give the test and grade it. I have to tell you, that you are a devotee. If you do service for name and fame , this is not good. If you do service to get interviews this is not good. Do service without wanting name and fame. After this seva they decided they were hungry so they bought themselves pizza. The buns cost $10. The pizza cost $100. What is the use of this seva. Seva must be silent and selfless, not by words. People announce beforehand they are going to do seva. This is not right. Work is testimony. No work for name and fame. The joy is what we work for. Do service for bliss. You are not doing seva for someone else. You are only doing it to serve God in everyone. Swami is in everyone. He has 1000 eyes, 1000 feet and 1000 heads. You must serve the One through the many people Another example was given. There was a program. A child was crying because of the heat. The mother told people to put on the fans. One person went to put on the fan. A rich man stopped then. My name is in on the blades, If the blades rotate then people won't see my name. Do service with the feeling that Swami is in everyone. Only with that attitude is it service. Give nutritious food. Quality not quantity is important. Do this work with love, compassion and sympathy. Then transformation will take place. Attachment and worldly desires prevent darshan of God. There will be a western canteen set up by Italians. Cook with love and serve with love. Swami gave another incident. In the South Indian Canteen there was a person who did service, but it was poor. When additional peope showed up he put extra water into the food and made sure everyone ate it. He spoke with harsh words. He wanted that Baba should put Tulsi leaf and water in his mouth when he was on his death bed. Baba told him your service was not quality. For fame and name you didi it. You gave the wrong food and trouble to devotees. Now your disease is the result of what you did. At least learn now and do better in your next life. Do what is dear to me than you become near to me. In groups some shortcomings occur. Give up narrowness and develop broadmindedness. Youngsters need to respect elders and elders should give children the chance to do service. When you do service with ego there is difference. When you say I do it you develop ego. Do introspection. Who gave you life, breath, body,( inhalation exhalation,) beating of heart?
