Sri Sathya Sai Seva organizations, Maharashtra is presently engaged in a mammoth Seva Project. All possible resources and man power are being put into maximum use in this huge seva, which is estimated to cost about Rs.350 lakhs. Yes, this is a seva to look after the welfare of people in about 20 villages in Maharashtra State, which reeling under very severe Drought. No drinking water, no job for the thousands of villagers, many cattle dying due to severe drought conditions. They do not have any money to buy any provision to cook their food. The possibility of huge famine and starvation is looming at large on the most unfortunate villagers, of the State.
Sri Sathya Sai Seva Organizations, Maharashtra, had undertaken elaborate survey to find the need of the villagers, so they can sustain the severity of the situation. Scores of Water tanks are deployed to provide regular water supplies in remote villages. Then the need to appease the hunger of every villager, and also tending the starved cattle.
Earlier, Swami had shown the way the mythology of serving the starving people. That is to provide them provisions, and encourage them to cook their own food and feel dignified. Free distribution of Amrit Kalash consisting of of Rice; Wheat/Jowar; Toordal; Jaggery; Groundnut and milk power along with Swami’s Photo and Vibhuti Prasadam to about 2,000 families for two month period.
