Om Sairam dearest Sai Family
Greetings to one and all from boiling hot Puttaparthi. May is the hottest month in most parts of India and Puttaparthi is one among them. The temperature is touching almost 43 to 45 during mid days and there are hardly any people on the streets in the afternoon.
Not sure how hot it was when this photo was taken but this is how we feel like doing to bear this heat...
Of course, no place in the world is like it used to be, thanks to Global warming and the most harsh way we are treating our Mother Earth. "No matter what Puttaparthi is our HOME and this HEAT can't stop us from coming here even in the month of May" said this devotee couple Mrs.Lorna and Mr.Nithya from umkomaas.. This is the devotion people all over the world have for our beloved Lord.
A BEAUTIFUL DRAMA BY STUDENTS OF SAI SCHOOL, DELHI
On the eve of Mother Eswaramma day students from Sri Sathya Sai School in New Delhi presented a Matru Bhakthi, a beautiful drama depicting Mother's love.
To sum up the story in a nut shell, the whole drama runs around this poor girl Indrani who has this burning desire to become a great singer. Assisted by her loving teacher, she promises her that she will do well in the singing competition with thorough practice even though at this stage she was lagging behind compared to her friends in the class.
In spite of her desire to do well, Indrani misses many of her practice classes and her bit "harsh" principal always gets cross with this little girl where as her teacher always encourages her and asks her to practice a lot.
On the day of the competition, as the principal's pressure rises, she waits patiently for Indrani to turn up, Indrani just makes it to the venue minutes before the competition . Apologising her principal she sings her heart during the competition. The whole crowd gives a big round of applause for her beautiful rendering. While she wins the first prize her principal looks at her bit amused while her friends and the class teacher rejoice this magical moment of Indrani's life.
After the competition, Indrani narrates her sad story where she tells how her deaf mother had this dream to make her daughter a great singer. Even though she couldn't hear, she always acknowledged her daughter's hard work to become a great singer. Her reason for her absence all these days was because her mother was suffering for cancer and her mother just passed away on the day of the competition and that is why she barely made it to the venue.
With that heavy heart, she sang her heart and won every one's heart. As this incident was narrated, she requests the Principal of the school if she can sing a special song for her mother and as we all watched, with dampened eyes, this little girl sang one of favorite songs of Swami's students, O Maa, O Maa, Tu kitni Achi Hain.. it was sung with so much innocence that every one in Sai kulwanth hall had an emotional break down.
To add to the sad song, the girl slowly walks towards Mahasamadhi and bows down to Swami, the scene in the drama was so emotionally charged that every one of us felt as if we were going there and bowing to our beloved Mother Sai.. It was one of the best dramas played in the recent past and as it was enacted in English it was easy for every one to understand. This is also an enlightening drama to the teachers who under estimate the learners' talents and always speak harshly with no love especially to the slow learners.
I guess these children are from the same Sathya Sai School where Swami visited during His Delhi visit in 2010.
Later after Bhajans, the Puttaparthi Youths, for the first time, beautifully decorated a huge photograph of Mother Eswaramma and went as a procession in the streets of Puttaparthi including Mother Eswaramma's samadhi. The whole atmosphere was spiritually charged and it was one of its kind experience for us Puttaparthians..
ESWARAMMA DAY (MAY 6th 2013)
This morning the scene was shifted to Samadhi Road, which has Swami's parents Samadhi. The road was beautifully decorated just as those good old days of Swami's visit on this holy day. Special floral decorations by the Chosen parents samadhi was just mesmerising..
The immediate family members of Swami along with officials from the ashram and devotees were assembled. The students chanted vedam and some beautiful bhajans on Mother Eswaramma. Looking at the beautifully decorated Samadhi of the Chosen parents, the sweet memories of Swami's visit flashed in the mind. It was in the year 2010, when Swami personally installed these marble statues. Even a Poorna Avatar, showed that respect for His physical parents only to remind us how important are our parents in our lives..
This morning after offering prayers and arathi to the chosen Parents of Mother Sai, sumptuous prasad was served to all the assembled devotees.

May this day remind every one of us the importance of Mother in our lives, May this day re-unite those parents who have been asked to stay away from their children, May this this day be a start of a new beginning to all the Mothers in this world..
With pranams at the Lotus feet of our beloved Lord,
R.Satish Naik
