The holy abode the "Pari poorna Avatar" of this kali age is all set to celebrate the 89th year of the advent. The devotees from all over the world are thronging to the holy Prasanthi, to touch the sanctified soil, to experience Him and to re-charge and energise their spiritual batteries with His divine energy..
Puttaparthi is and will remain the holiest of the places and a " dear" one even for the Gods in Vaikuntha for being an instrument to " accommodate" the " Latest" avatar of this Kali Age who let all of us turn inward failing which the world would have been in great turmoil in multiples to what it is today..
The people of Puttaparthi, for whom Swami is and will remain the dearest are all happy with the way this little hamlet is decorated.. It is like any marriage house which suddenly gets dusted off, cleaned, decorated with flowers, colourful Rangolis and beautiful music played on the background.
The birthday season also means some money to the local business men. One can already see poor men and women selling balloons, imitation floral decors, japmalas on the streets of Puttaparthi hoping to make few rupees. the flower ladies who sell from the pavements have also doubled up their inventory as every one is offering flowers, garlands to the deity of their choice in the ashram.
RATHOTSAVAM STARTS IN PRASANTHI:
As part of the birthday celebrations, as is the tradition, the venugopal Swami chariot which is usually placed in Swami' s old mandir ( now a wedding hall) was brought to the gopuram gate with beautiful floral decorations, amidst veda chants, bhajans and dance.
Speaking on this ocassion, Sri.Rathnakar said that the trust is inclined to broaden the seva activites and during the 89th birthday celebrations, the Sri Sathya Sai Central Trust will dedicate the water project worth 80 crores and benefitting 118 villages surrounding Puttaparthi, the new archives building will be ready for inaugaration by April 24th next year.
CHIEF GUESTS FOR BIRTHDAY CELEBRATIONS:
On November 22nd, for the 33 rd convocation of Swami's university, Sri.Kastruri Rangan Indian space scientist who headed the Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO) from 1994 to 2003 and a Member in the Upper House of the Indian Parliament will be addressing the students of Sri Sathya Sai University.
Shri. Chandra Babu Naidu, a long time devotee and the present chief minister of Andhra Pradesh would be visiting Puttaparthi on November 23rd to seek blessings of Swami and also to formally dedicate this water project to the society.
ELECTRIC BUGGIES FOR THE ELDERLY:
The ashram will now have two Electric Buggies for the benefit of elderly devotees living within the ashram. Those devotees who cannot walk to the Sai Kulwanth hall from their respective units, can now travel with comfort in these electric buggies. These buggies will also assist the devotees who come to Prasanthi by bus and have to walk a very long distance to the common dormitories.

SWACH BHARATH (CLEAN INDIA)CAMPAIGN IN PRASANTHI
By the clarion call given by the Prime Minister of India Sri.Narendra Modi, the Clean India campaign had a fantastic start in Puttaparthi and it was a welcome move by the authorities to start the campaign by cleaning up the Chitravathi river belt which has been neglected over the years.
Speaking on this ocassion, the local minister Mr.Raghunath Reddy said his government is keen on developing Puttaparthi and they will be giving cleanliness the first priority. The government also sanctioned about 5 crore rupees for the beautification of the Chitravathi river bed where there is a proposal to built a nice Arathi place (for your information, every thursday around 7 PM there is Chitravathi arathi done by locals and is open for all), there is also a proposal to come up with green lawns, kids play area etc .
Sri.Rathnakar, Trustee of Sri Sathya Sai Central Trust also participated in this programme. Addressing the crowd he said, millions of devotees from all over the world come to Prasanthi to clean up their minds and hearts which is filled with worries, jealosy, hatred and ego and it is time for all of us keep Prasanthi clean and tidy. He assured of extending every possible support from the ashram to keep Prasanthi clean.

No matter if you celebrated Swami's birthday at home, center, school or office, do send a photo of the beautifully decorated altar (should be taken on birthday) so as to share this with every one. Every devotee would love to see various pictures of birthday celebrations. Please mention the name of the place (if it is your home give your name) , Sai Center/ country and these photos will be assembled country wise and posted on FACEBOOK at the end of November.
