The BAPS Shri Swaminarayan Mandir is a traditional Hindu place
of worship for swminarayan faith. The word Mandir means a house of prayer and worship for God of faith. The mandir preaches forgiveness, honesty, unity, humility, tolerance, patience, sacrifice and charity. The mandir is a central place for spiritual, and humanitarian social get together and activities.
The Temple in Chino Hills is one of the biggest Hindu temple in
United States, built at a colossal cost of $100 million and designed
to last 1,000 years, has become a major attraction for its grandeur
and architecture. It is Constructed from 35,000 pieces of
meticulously hand carved Italian Carrara marble and Indian Pink
Sandstone, the temple encompasses five pinnacles, two large
domes, four balconies, 122 pillars and 129 archways.
The mandir is located on a twenty acre site, complete with ninety
one foot lotus-shaped reflection pond, a cultural center, gymnasium
and classrooms.
