Today – October 24, 2012 – is observed as Vijayadasami and Dussehra. It is believed that Goddess Chamundi (Durga) vanquished Mahisha and other demons on Vijaya Dasami.In North India, the 10-day Dussehra festival celebrates the victory of Rama over Ravana, the victory of good over evil on earth and today is the final day.

Vijaya Dasami is the victory of good over evil – Goddess Durga annihilating Mahisha and Lord Ram defeating Ravana. Symbolically, it is the prolonged struggle against the ego and ignorance in each human being. After the struggle there is the day of new beginning – Vijaya Dasami.

Ravan is one of the few characters who has taught us how not to live our lives. Although intelligent and powerful, his one major flaw of ego nullified all other qualifications; arrogance blinded his reasoning. Spirituality awakens our self-respect and helps us recognise our specialiti...

es. Greatness lies in humility as our minds are then free from jealousy and comparison; these negative traits drain us of energy which otherwise could be positively used in building our personality and life. Ego hides itself well and only a deep cleansing can remove it.
The 10 heads of Ravan symbolize our vices – Ego, Lust, Anger, Greed, Attachment, Jealousy, Hatred, Hurt, Cunningness and Laziness. Ravan died when Shri Ramji shot an arrow at his navel; killing one head at a time was fruitless as they re-appeared each time. Evil will only die when the roots are destroyed, and in spirituality, the seed of vices is body-consciousness. A practice of reviving the inner self of purity, truth, love, mercy, wisdom, bliss - the atma, ruh, soul - takes us beyond body consciousness and the vices that arise because of it.
As we attend Ravan's cremation this year, let each one of us donate one weakness as ahuti for the great pyre.

Shivji says it seems you have forgotten a warrior fights for Dharma, but you've killed him out of anger, such behavior is agains any war rules, I didn't expect this from you. Kartikeya asks you didn't expect from a warrior or a Shiv putra. Parvati screams at Kartikeya for his such behavior with his father. Kartikeya says he makes a rule today, if such a situation arises in the World, then without your permission I won't use weapons, I may die while doing so , Dishearten Kartikeya with tears in his eyes leaves from there.

Vajrang is furious at the news of Tare's death, he scolds Tarakasur's 3 sons for being buzy in Shiv-puja. Shukracharya tells him their war was against Devas but it is turning out to be a war agains Shiv parivar. Vajrang tells him, is interested in only revenge, it will be better if he can guides them, otherwise should keep quiet. Shukracharya says he can only give advice, only Mahishasur is capable of killing Kartikeya.

Mahishasur is shown hitting, troubling rishi wives. One of them tells him she is not scared of him. He'll pay for tormenting all the women. He is proud of his boon that no man can kill him & he considers woman weak. For using women as a mean of lust, he'll pay, will die like a cowerd. She is killed.

Kartikeya comes to Nandi asks him to forgive him, he realeases him. Nandi requests K not to have any feelings against his father in anger. It is very difficult to understand him. You are very lucky to be his son. Kartikeya says he has understood, his father is great he is pained at an Asura's death but is not happy at his son being alive, he has understood his greatness & please don't try to guide him any further.

Vajrang meets M, explains Shivji held Kartikeya in his palm he had Paravti's shakti, he killed Tarakasur. He asks Mahishasur to use his boon & show them we are not weak, he should kill Kartikeya & restore Asura's honur. Mahishasur says Kartikeya will be killed by him, Kartikeya I am coming.

Parvati tells Shivji she will explain Kartikeya, he shouldn't get so angry at such an young age, he will not behave like this with you. Shivji says his anger is to be controlled, She says isn't he angey with Kartikeya? Shivji says at that moment his anger was reqired. We both will make him understand this is our duty. Shivji explains Paravti of a mother too being responsible of herr child's failure & success. We'll explain to him, for that we need to be patient. Right now he needs you. He has gone towards Arunachala mountains. Paravti goes in search of Kartikeya. Shivji is thinking, go soon he needs your love & protection.

Naradji is at Swarga, tells Indra, Asuras have attacked once again & you are sitting relieved here. Indra is scared, where & how again asuras? Naradji says Tare attacked kartikeya. He killed him. Indra says he shouldn't interfere between father & son. Naradji aks him even your war was between Devas & Asuras then why did you ask for Kartikeya's help? Indra says only he was the solution for their problem. Naradji says atleast you are accepting he is responsible for winning the war.

Paravti is looking for Kartikeya, Mahishasur sees her ,says only Parvati can be so beautiful, I was destined to kill Kartikeya otherwise I wouldn't have seen her . He says Shiv, I'll snatch not only you're your son but your wife too. Shivji opens his eyes, thinks you have only seen her divine beauty, but is unaware of her powers, her reality. To protect he son, she'll take her most powerful Aadi shakti's form. You are right , you were destined to meet her, you death was written the day you started insulting woman.

Parvti sees Kartikeya sitting alone. She asks him to speak about his problem, if he doesn't want to then atleast have kheer. Kartikeya says he doesn't wish to eat. Mahishasur comes there, says it's time to die now.

Precap: Paravati screams Mahishasur, they fight, she takes Durga roop, kills Mahishasur. Kartikeya is watching his mother's power. Durgama says you consider woman weak, trouble them, have to die now.
