'Navratri' meaning 'nine nights' is a significant Hindu festival, which is celebrated twice a year - 'Chaitra' or 'Vasant Navratri' (March-April), and 'Sharad Navratri' (October-November). Both the celebrations center on the worship of Goddess Shakti.  In Gujarat, Navratri festival celebrates the worship of Goddess Jagdamba, while in West Bengal, Durga Puja is the reason to rejoice. Though, every region in India celebrates this festival in its own way, Navratri Festival is dedicated to the 3 avatars of Goddess Shakti - Durga (the warrior Goddess), Lakshmi (the Goddess of wealth), and Saraswati (the Goddess of knowledge).  Navratre itself means nine days. Its the festival of worshipping Goddess Durga Mata in her nine swarups. Each day of Navatri represents one of the following nine swarups of Durga Mata. Day 1 – Mata Shailputri "Shail" means mountains and "putri" means daughter. Ma Shailputri means daughter of mountains and this swarup refers to Goddess Parvati who was the Daughter of King Himavan (the King of the mountains). Ma Shailputri is depicted with two hands, one with a trident and the other with a lotus. She is seated upon a bull. She is believed to be an embodiment of the power of Brahma, Vishnu and Shiva. In her previous incarnation, Shailputri is believed to be Sati, the daughter of Daksha and the wife of Lord Shiva. Once Daksha had organized a big Yagna and did not invite Shiva. But Sati being obstinate, reached there. Thereupon Daksha insulted Shiva. Sati could not tolerate the insult of husband and burnt herself in the fire of Yagna. In other birth she became the daughter of Himavan, the king of the Himalayas in the name of Parvati – Hemvati and got married with Shiva once again. Mata Shailputri or Ma Parvati can be worshipped at any temple of Shivji where her deity is always present next to her consort God Shiva.  May the illustrious Shailputri Durga whom I salute and whose head is adorned by a halfmoon, who rides nandi, a bull and carries a spear fulfill the desires of my heart. She is known as 1st phase of Durga when she took birth as the daughter of Great Himalayas. Takki is observing Kartikeya's valorous act.. as Kartikeya kills the other demons in the same fashion. All the devas are happy seeing this, where as Takki is vexed..and in the annoyance s he roars making the earth tremble and the sky is filled with thunder lightnings created with Takki's powers. Takki challenges Kartikeya to break the ploy he has made Indr is afraid as the ploy that Takki has made is invincible Due to lightnings Kartikeya has to forcefully get down on the earth. Kartikeya then says that everything is possible.. it can be made possible by our courage, our wisdom, our purity of thoughts and aims. He continues that their aim is to make Righteousness win over unjust. This day his capability will be proven. The wait for this moment for yugas have come and is over. And announces that Tarkasur's end is for sure whatever be the consequences., Nandi says that he would fight till the war ends… They all now marchh towards Tarkasur who has hid himself in the cover of hills n mountains covered around him. Kartikeya flies on the divine bird – Peacock, and the Devsena wo runs towrds Tarkaur are now perplexed to see a huge wall in front of them.. behind this wall stands a scared Takki! Kartiekya now brings all his powers together and destroys the wall.. Takki thinks that how can Kartikeya march forth into the first wall.. what has happened to Brhma dev's boon? An arrogant Takki challenges Kartikeya to breach the second wall. The second wall that Takki plans was a wall of fire.. and for someone like Kartikeya who was first touched by Agnidev and who almost seared Agnidev was now asked to pass through the Firewall. Kartikeya is successful in going a step near Takki.. all the devtas cheer him up. 'IMPOSSIBLE!!!' shouts Takki There stands a hue wall of water… he passes tthrough even that by his powers. Takki feels betrayed. But when Kartikeya breaks the wall of water and goes in the wall rebuilds trapping Katikeya in a dangerous trap. Nandi feels sad n gguilt stricken for being able to be their with Kartikeya. Kartikeya moves ahead and sees horrified Tarkasur. Then he takes out his weapon and point it towards Takki. The weapon sucks off all the electric lightning arcs. War ke beech main discussion kyun!?! Now Takki challenges Kartikeya to equal him and grows bigger n bigger. Takki tries to kill the bird n Kartikeya with his sword but they escape. Kartikeya continuously blows arrows at Tarkasur. But Takki gathers his powers in the form of a ball and throws it at Kartikeya… Making Kartikeya swoon and fall down But Shiva ( Daddy dearest) catches his son in time. Karpura gauram is played in the BG.. a must watch scene! Shiva asks Kartikeya to wake up.. Kartikeya lays unconscious on his father's palm… where Shiva waits for his son to wake up and fight the evil one. After a moment or two Kartikeya gently gets up on his fathers loving and protective palm, where the father- Shiva has a tearin his eyes seeig his own son in such condition. Now Kartikeya takes out his powerful weapon and slays the asur. Mahadev standing like is proud father seeing his son's victory. All the devtas and gan and prayts rejoice and sing victory slogans of Kartikeya. NAndi feels emotional , seeing this Kartikeya hugs him with love. Then someone laughs in wicked tone… HAHHAHA It is Indra!! to be frank for a moment I thought Takki was back! why did Indra laugh like a clown! Indra is over excited of getting his back… seeing Indra making a fool of himself Vishnuji and devi Laxmi exchange expressions. Shiv and Parvati appears… Kartikeya pays his reveres towards his parents by touching their feet..Both the parents embrace their child with love. (Again a must watch scene) Shiva says that all those difficulties have just made Kartikeya strong, courageous and wise. Also that the expectations that whole world had with him, he did justice to it. Precap: Devtas, ganas and prayts praise Kartikeya Indr singing his old arrogant song says "We have won, we have defeated those asuras!"
