Sai Ram
Went to visit Prasanthi with a small group, arriving there the day before the recent Maha Shivaratri Celebrations, taking also with me a video camera. As it's normally not permitted to film within the confines of Prasanthi Nilayam itself, I decided to spend the ensuing week filming the many aspects of Puttaparthi itself. Maha Shivaratri was not only celebrated within the Sai Kulwant Hall, but also outside in the village. Mainly around the many sacred Temples that dot the area. Some of these include Swami's Birthplace, The Shivalayam Temple, the Satyabhamma Temple area and around the Shiva Linga Temple confines (Hanuman Temple, Shirdi Sai Temple, Old Bhajan Hall etc). .Many Akhanda Bhajans, puja's etc in various different locations were performed throughout the whole night of the10th till sunrise the next morning. So I spent most of the night filming a lot of these happenings. Eventually heading off to Sai Kulwant Hall from about 2am - 6am.
On the morning of Maha Shivaratri around 10am, I was asked to film the Shiva Linga Puja at the Durga Temple (See below), situated on the banks of the Chitravati River. This started off with a Ganesh puju, Linga abhishekams etc, then a yagna was performed. Over the coming weeks when the time permits, I will be posting online, alot of these recorded events and the days that followed in and around Puttaparthi itself.
p.s Please please let me know, if you do not wish to be emailed again and again about all of this. I will not be offended.
Might set up a blog instead
