Unknown person donates Rs 1.18 crore diamonds at Saibaba

SHIRDI: 1st August 2012:An unidentified person donated two diamonds worth Rs 1.18 crore at Sri Saibaba temple here, Saibaba trust officials said here on Wednesday.
The diamonds - of three and two carat each studded in a gold pendant - valued at Rs 1.18 crore were found in a cash box on Tuesday, they said.Both the diamonds have a "round brilliant cut", which is rare in such big sized diamonds. The report further added that two carat diamond is of F colour and another is of G colour.
The government value of the two and three carat diamonds is Rs 39.90 lakh and Rs 77.80 lakh respectively. The diamonds are studded with an eighteen carat gold chain, weighing five and ahalf gram.
The cumulative cost determined by the valuators is Rs 1.17 crore, but the market value of it will be higher by Rs 20 lakh, said the officer.
However, the donor is not known, they said. This is the first time that such expensive diamonds have been donated at the Saibaba trust, the officials said.
