Friday, July 23, 2010 - Sai News & Photo Updates : With two more days to go for Guru Purnima, Prasanthi is already full and there is a steady inflow of devotees ahead of the grand festivity.
Today, in the evening that was marked for the Latin American Choir to perform, Bhagawan emerged at 1750 hrs. to come for a full round of darshan to the merriment of thousands upon thousands filled every available slot in the spacious Sai Kulwant Hall.
A slow, detailed round ensued, conferring blessings on many, before Bhagawan ascended the dais at 1810 hrs. to the holy chants of Vedam. The chanting continued for another 15 minutes, after which He blessed the co-ordinators and officials from the region to commence the programme. As per His Divine command an announcement on the programme was made through the loud speaker system, listing out the participating countries.
The programme for the evening was entitled VAMOS CON SAI, a Latin American Choir with twelve participating countries, that included Argentina, Brazil, Mexico, El Salvador, Columbia, Equador, Haiti, Uruguay etc. Starting with three Omkars followed by Ganesh Prarthana, the Choristers soon switched over to Latin American tongue singing an array of songs in various 'regional' languages. Songs sounded 'Greek and Latin' for the general devotees, still, it was their pure devotion poured forth in a united voice, lighting the twilight with infectious tunes, that brought great joy unto the Friday evening's congregation that relished every moment of the programme gazing at Him in physical.
The fifty minute programme ended at 1920 hrs. upon which Bhagawan accepted Mangala Arathi. Asking for an encore of " Samastha Lokaaha..." Bhagawan sat for some more time watching the prasadam distribution before moving off the dais to retire for the day at 1930 hrs.
Earlier, while gliding past the students' block, Bhagawan blessed a group of boys from Sri Sathya Sai Junior Hostel, who sought His blessings with a replica of the hostel building, being the 15th anniversary of the New Hostel Building that was inaugurated on the same day in 1996. Brindavan students have already arrived Prasanthi Nilayam and students from the Anantapur Campus were expected to join Prasanthi this evening.
