A medida que las temperaturas subieron durante el mes de mayo, también lo hizo la chisporroteante emoción en Sai Sanjeevani.

Este mes, estamos muy emocionados de anunciar el inicio del Centro de Investigación de Enfermedades del Corazón Sri Sathya Sai Sanjeevani para Enfermedades Congénitas del Corazón en Palwal, que será inaugurado por S hri Manohar Lal Khattar, Ministro Principal de Haryana, India, el 7 de junio de 2018 . Mientras Sai Sanjeevani continúa su misión en la atención curativa, este centro de investigación será el primer paso para comprender la causa de estas enfermedades.

El centro de investigación también celebró su reunión inaugural del Comité de ética institucional (IEC) el 13 de mayo de 2018, dirigida por el ex presidente del Tribunal Supremo de la India Sr. KG Balakrishnan como presidente y profesor de Genética Humana Dr. BK Thelma (Departamento de Genética, Delhi University, South Campus, Nueva Delhi) como Vicepresidente.

Nuestra red se ha ampliado aún más con tres casos internacionales este mes, ¡incluido nuestro primer paciente de Etiopía , Baby Tsion! Los otros dos niños, Nifemi y Yenuli Bhimansadh provienen de Nigeria y Sri Lanka, respectivamente. La misión global continúa.

También contamos con la Asistente de Quirófano y Quirúrgica de la sala de operaciones, Kym Stewart de Australia, que pasó dos semanas en Raipur ofreciéndole su valioso tiempo y conocimiento entrenando enfermeras. En un esfuerzo por mejorar las habilidades y el conocimiento de estas enfermeras, también hubo una demostración de WetLab de que las condiciones de OT se recrearon para una experiencia de aprendizaje más práctica.

Para agregar la lista de invitados apreciados que visitan Sai Sanjeevani, recibimos cordialmente al Dr. Sesikeran , exdirector del Instituto Nacional de Nutrición de Hyderabad en Palwal, que aporta nuevas ideas al equipo de DMCHP a través de su perspicaz presentación sobre EPIGENÉTICA Y ORÍGENES FETALES DE LA ENFERMEDAD ADULTOS. Le hicieron muchas preguntas sobre nutrición y las iluminó sobre las posibles medidas para terminar con el ciclo de desnutrición.

En abril de 2018, Sai Sanjeevani Palwal alcanzó el importante hito de completar 1 año de cirugías. Como primer paso, el Centro de Investigación Sri Sathya Sai Sanjeevani celebró la primera reunión del Comité de Ética Institucional (IEC) el 13 de mayo de 2018 con el ex Presidente del Tribunal Supremo de la India Sr. KG Balakrishnan como Presidente y Prof. de Genética Humana, El Dr. BK Thelma (Departamento de Genética, Universidad de Delhi, Campus Sur, Nueva Delhi) como Vicepresidente, junto con otros clínicos y científicos de renombre como miembros del panel.

(Mayo de 2018)

115 Las cirugías cardíacas pediátricas se realizaron en mayo de 2018 y 4536 se han realizado cirugías en el Hospital Sri Sathya Sai Sanjeevani, Naya Raipur desde su inicio en noviembre de 2012, con pacientes procedentes de todo el país y otros países en desarrollo.

Se registraron 1131 registros de pacientes ambulatorios durante el mes: 616 nuevos casos pediátricos y 515 casos pediátricos revisados y de seguimiento. 762 registros de pacientes Pre se registraron este mes.

De un total de 1541 ECHO realizados este mes, 616 son nuevos casos cardíacos pediátricos como se muestra en la tabla a continuación. También se realizaron 410 pruebas posoperatorias para pacientes internados y TEE y 515 ECO repetidas y de seguimiento médico.

CLÍNICAS DE ESPECIALIDAD

SERVICIOS PACIENTES PARA PACIENTES AMBULATORIOS CARDIACOS (noviembre de 2016 - mayo de 2018)

Desde el inicio del Hospital en noviembre de 2016, 7860 pacientes ambulatorios cardíacos pediátricos han sido evaluados y tratados con pacientes procedentes de 22 estados del país. Se administraron 397 nuevos pacientes ambulatorios pediátricos en mayo de 2018.

CIRUGÍAS E INTERVENCIONES CARDIACAS PEDIÁTRICAS (Abril 2017 - Mayo 2018)

La primera Cirugía Cardíaca Pediátrica en el Centro se llevó a cabo el 18 de abril de 2017. Se realizaron 377 cirugías cardíacas pediátricas desde abril de 2017 en el Centro Internacional Sri Sathya Sai Sanjeevani de Cuidado e Investigación del Corazón del Niño, Baghola, Palwal, Haryana. 445 Intervenciones de cateterismo pediátrico se llevaron a cabo hasta mayo de 2018.

Este abril, el Centro Internacional Sri Sathya Sai Sanjeevani de Cuidado e Investigación del Corazón del Niño, Palwal dio la bienvenida a su primera paciente intercontinental, una niña llamada Nifemi, de 10 años de edad, del estado de Ogun en Nigeria.

Nifemi había sufrido complicaciones de salud desde su nacimiento, luchando por correr y jugar como otros niños en su escuela. Su madre hacía malabarismos criando a otros tres niños junto con las frecuentes visitas de Nifemi a clínicas y hospitales. Su padre, que ganaba un modesto salario como maestro, buscó el apoyo de sus amigos, parientes y miembros de la iglesia para financiar el tratamiento que Nifemi requería. Esto le pasó factura a su vida familiar, pero continuaron confiando en que algún día Nifemi se curaría de su enfermedad.

Ese feliz día finalmente llegó el 30 de abril de 2018, cuando Nifemi se curó Totalmente Gratis, ¡en un terreno a más de 8000 km de su hogar!

La madre de Nifemi había oído hablar de Sri Sathya Sai Sanjeevani a través de un amigo, y estaba completamente incrédulo. No podía entender cómo un hospital podía brindar tratamiento gratuito y salvar a su hijo fácilmente de una enfermedad que había luchado durante una década. A través de una persona de contacto en Nigeria, lograron hacer su largo viaje hacia Palwal, India.

En el hospital, a Nifemi se le diagnosticó una CIV perimembranosa mal definida con derivación bidireccional de extensión de la salida y se le realizó el cierre quirúrgico exitoso de la CIV. La madre de Nifemi se sintió abrumada de gratitud hacia el hospital, afirmando que todo el personal allí exhibía un inmenso amor y cuidado por su hija. Ella está extremadamente feliz y espera que Nifemi crezca para servir y ayudar a otros. La propia Nifemi expresó su deseo de convertirse en doctora para salvar a niños en situaciones similares a las de ella. Tanto la madre como la hija abandonaron el hospital a principios de esta semana, y ahora están a salvo en su casa en Nigeria, ¡para la alegría de sus amigos y familiares!

Yenuli Bhimansadh apenas tenía un día cuando le diagnosticaron TOF. Después de un chequeo cada tres meses en el Hospital de Colombo, la cirugía parecía ser la única opción. La lista de espera era de alrededor de 3000 pacientes antes de que el bebé Yenuli pudiera ser operado. Su médico en el Hospital de Colombo, el Dr. Dumindh Samarsinge, proporcionó información a la familia a una compañía, United Motors, que organizó su transporte y logística a la India y el médico ayudó a coordinar con el equipo de Sri Sathya Sai Sanjeevani, Naya Raipur. Yenuli, ahora de 2 años y 10 meses de edad, fue operada el 21 de mayo de 2018 y hoy sonríe alegremente a sus padres en su caminata matutina.

Sus padres son empleados del Gobierno de Sri Lanka. Su padre, el Sr. Dharmawardane, nunca olvida mencionar que no hay lugar en todo el mundo como el hospital Sanjeevani, donde las personas son tratadas independientemente de su clase, religión, nacionalidad, etnia, sexo y barreras. Sus padres no son fluidos con los idiomas de comunicación que se hablan aquí, incluido el inglés. Sin embargo, todos en Sanjeevani hablan el lenguaje universal del amor y todos lo entienden también. No podríamos haber encontrado una mejor manera. Uno de nosotros imprimió una página de palabras en inglés traducida a Sinhala, solo para que sea su hogar.

Baby Tsion estuvo bastante saludable hasta casi su 3er mes. Cuando sus padres la llevaron a su rutina de vacunación, se detectó CHD. Su padre, que trabaja como profesor asistente y su madre, que estaba cursando su doctorado, se sorprendieron bastante, ya que todo fue normal durante el chequeo de su embarazo y el examen posterior al parto. La bendición vino a ellos en la forma del guía de doctorado de su madre, el Dr. Mahesh Kumar Akkaraboyina quien los guió al Hospital Sri Sathya Sai Sanjeevani. Después de cierta correspondencia por correo electrónico, la familia llegó a Naya Raipur y el niño fue operado el 25 de mayo de 2018.

Hoy la familia es todo sonrisas y Tsion sonríe también. Su madre, Mahider Birhanu, agradece a todo el equipo de médicos y personal de Sanjeevani por todo el amor que recibieron.
Su padre siempre está listo para ayudar a su amigo de Sri Lanka con cualquier cosa que este último requiera.

Día Internacional de las Enfermeras en Sai Sanjeevani, Palwal

El 12 de mayo de 2018 fue un día verdaderamente memorable para el Centro Internacional Sri Sathya Sai Sanjeevani de Child Heart & Research, Palwal ... el rumor y la emoción en el hospital se doblaron mientras nos preparábamos para celebrar el Día Internacional de las Enfermeras junto con la preparación para el llegada de nuestro estimado invitado Shri Sunil Gavaskar.

Llegó al hospital alrededor de las 2.30 p.m., fue recibido calurosamente por algunos de nuestros médicos en la entrada. El Cricket Master se conmovió profundamente cuando fue llevado a una visita al hospital, donde nuestro personal y pacientes lo recibieron con entusiasmo.

Al final de la visita al Hospital, dos hermosos niños que fueron dados de alta ese día recibieron dulcemente el certificado de "Don de la vida" de Sunil Gavaskar. Hizo un punto para hablar con cada niño individualmente y los guió sobre cómo uno puede mejorar las habilidades de concentración y lograr el éxito en la vida.

Fue un momento de gran alegría para nuestras enfermeras cuando el pequeño maestro cortó un hermoso pastel que estaba decorado con wickets y campo de cricket para conmemorar el Día Internacional de las Enfermeras con la leyenda Sunil Gavaskar.

Un wetlab se llevó a cabo por primera vez en el Hospital Sri Sathya Sai Sanjeevani, en Naya Raipur, el 23 de mayo de 2018, para los practicantes de cardiología y el personal de la UCI.

El objetivo de esto es proporcionar una mayor exposición al personal de la UCI que es el principal cuidador de cada niño después de la cirugía. Esto no solo los dotará de conocimientos y experiencia, sino que también les dará la oportunidad de comprender el trabajo del equipo que trabaja en la Operación Teatro, lo que permitirá un mejor equipo para brindar atención de calidad a cada niño.

Señorita Kym Stewart, Brisbane, Australia

La señorita Kym Stewart, asistente quirúrgica y enfermera de quirófano en el Hospital Lady Cilanto, Brisbane, Australia, pasó tres semanas en ssssh. Esta fue su segunda visita al hospital. Durante su estancia, organizó un laboratorio húmedo para las enfermeras y los médicos. Ella también participó activamente en la sala de operaciones.
En su tiempo libre, Kym diseña y hace joyas que luego vende para recaudar dinero para el hospital.

DISPOSITIVO CIERRE DE VENTANA AP

Este mes, se llevaron a cabo 2 casos novedosos en el laboratorio de cateterismo cardíaco del Hospital Sri Sathya Sai Sanjeevani, en Naya Raipur. Cierre del dispositivo de la Ventana AP.

Estos 2 childrennamely Mast. Om Singh Baghel, edad 6 Y 5 M, masculino y mástil. Vansh Raj, de 2 años de edad, Y 7 M, de sexo masculino, se les diagnosticó una ventana AP en el ecocardiograma en el hospital Sri Sathya Sai Sanjeevani de Naya Raipur. En general, la reparación quirúrgica es el tratamiento de elección para este defecto. Sin embargo, como los defectos en ambos niños eran de tamaño moderado, se tomó la decisión de cerrarlos mediante una técnica de transcatéter percutáneo en el laboratorio de cateterismo.

El procedimiento se realizó con éxito y los niños fueron dados de alta al día siguiente. Esta es la primera vez en la historia de esta región que este raro procedimiento se realizó dos veces con un solo mes.

El ex Director del Instituto Nacional de Nutrición, Hyderabad- Dr Sesikeran visitó Sai Sanjeevani Palwal el 19 de mayo y pasó un tiempo comprendiendo el sistema de prestación de servicios de salud totalmente gratuito de Sai Sanjeevani. Más tarde dio una presentación muy perspicaz sobre EPIGENÉTICA NUTRICIONAL Y ORÍGENES FETALES DE LA ENFERMEDAD ADULTOS a todos los miembros del personal, seguido de preguntas y respuestas y una breve interacción con los miembros del equipo del Programa de salud maternoinfantil.

GRUPOS DE APOYO A LA MADRE

Como parte de la actividad mensual del programa de salud Divine Mother and Child, la sesión del Grupo de Apoyo a las Madres continuó con el mismo entusiasmo e iniciativa de las mujeres embarazadas y sus familias en Village Parsada en el distrito de Raipur. La Demostración de la Cocción se llevó a cabo en el centro de Anganwadi con la ayuda de los trabajadores de Anganwadi y los Mitanins para mostrar diferentes alimentos de alta densidad energética que se pueden preparar con ingredientes disponibles localmente. Hubo nuevos registros este mes y, por lo tanto, se jugó con el grupo un juego innovador de serpientes y escaleras diseñado para participar y enseñar sobre los signos de peligro en el embarazo y las buenas prácticas de salud. CELEBRACIONES ESCOLARES JUNTAS

El 19 de mayo fue un día de fiesta en el GPS Baghola, mientras que la escuela organizó una gran feria del libro. La dirección de la escuela hizo un punto para felicitar al equipo de DMCHP por su trabajo incansable para facilitar que todos los niños de la escuela tengan acceso a Chequeo de Salud, Nutrición y Suplementos que creen que han contribuido a una mayor asistencia escolar y mejores resultados.

Esta es una noticia sobre Anuj Pratap Singh, hijo de Havildar Rajendra Singh del ejército indio.

Rajendra desempeñó sus funciones en Doklam junto a Indo China Border también. Anuj se sometió a cirugía por procedimiento de CATH para cierre de ASD en Sai Sanjeevani, Naya Raipur y ha sido dado de alta.

El Centro Internacional Sri Sathya Sai Sanjeevani para el Cuidado e Investigación del Corazón del Niño, PALWAL completó UN AÑO DE CIRUGÍAS el 18 de abril de 2018 . Para conmemorar este hermoso logro, tuvimos una función de personal el 5 de mayo de 2018, en la que todo el personal fue reconocido por su esfuerzo y compromiso con el servicio desinteresado prestado por Sai Sanjeevani.

El evento fue acertadamente titulado "Unnati - Celebrando un año de amor en acción" , inspirado en el primer niño que fue operado en nuestro hospital, el pequeño Unnati Singh. "Unnati" significa progreso, y esto fue verdaderamente venerado por la cantidad asombrosa de más de 3000 pacientes ambulatorios que hemos visto, y las 750 cirugías e intervenciones de cateterismo que se han completado en solo este año.

Hace poco, había un equipo muy pequeño que trabajaba incansablemente para poner en marcha el quirófano y poder realizar su cirugía ... y esta vez fue muy bien acogida por un sólido equipo de casi 200 empleados, muchos de los cuales han estado allí desde el principio.

Antes del evento, tuvimos 2 semanas de bullicio y emoción, con deportes, juegos y diversas actividades culturales. Los premios para estos eventos también se presentaron al entusiasta personal, seguido de un breve programa por parte del personal y la familia del personal.

Después de discursos entusiastas, conmovedores y enérgicos por parte de los médicos veteranos y nuestro amado presidente Shri C. Sreenivas, todos nos pusimos de pie y nos comprometimos con la misión incesante de Sai Sanjeevani: "AMAR A TODOS SERVIR A TODOS".

As the temperatures rose over the month of May, so did the sizzling excitement at Sai Sanjeevani.

This month, we are very thrilled to announce the inception of the Sri Sathya Sai Sanjeevani Research Centre for Congenital Heart Diseases in Palwal, which will be inaugurated by Shri Manohar Lal Khattar, Chief Minister of Haryana, India on June 7th 2018. While Sai Sanjeevani continues its mission in curative care, this research centre will be the first step in understanding the cause of these diseases.

The research centre also held its inaugural Institutional Ethics Committee (IEC) Meeting on 13th May 2018, lead by former Chief Justice of Supreme Court of India Mr. KG Balakrishnan as Chairperson and Prof. of Human Genetics Dr B.K Thelma (Department of Genetics, Delhi University, South Campus, New Delhi) as Vice Chairperson.

Our net has broadened even further now with three international cases this month, including our very first patient from Ethiopia, Baby Tsion ! The other two children, Nifemi and Yenuli Bhimansadh hail from Nigeria and Sri Lanka respectively. The global mission continues.

It was a very memorable International Nurses Day (12^th May 2018) this year at Sai Sanjeevani with Cricket Legend Shri Sunil Gavaskar visiting the Palwal hospital, interacting and inspiring all staff & patients. At Naya Raipur, there was a cultural programme on the topic - Health is a Human Right. Nurses : A Voice to Lead.

We also had senior Operating Room Nurse & Surgical Assistant, Kym Stewart from Australia who spent two weeks in Raipur offering her valuable time and knowledge by training nurses. In an effort to improve the skills and knowledge of these nurses, there was also a WetLab demonstration the OT conditions are recreated for a more practical learning experience.

To add the list of esteemed guests visiting Sai Sanjeevani, we heartily received Dr. Sesikeran, Former Director of National Institute of Nutrition, Hyderabad at Palwal bringing new ideas to the DMCHP team through his insightful presentation on EPIGENETICS AND FETAL ORIGINS OF ADULT DISEASE. They asked him many questions about nutrition and he illuminated them about the possible measures on ending the cycle of malnutrition.

In April 2018, Sai Sanjeevani Palwal reached the important milestone of completing 1 year of surgeries. To celebrate this incredible achievement, the hospital had a staff function called 'Unnati: Celebrating One Year Of Love in Action" on 5th May 2018. It was a day full of enjoyment as the efforts of all in making the hospital a success was honoured and everyone pledged to continue the mission of Love & Service with renewed vigour.

115 Pediatric Cardiac surgeries were conducted in May 2018 and 4536 surgeries have been conducted at Sri Sathya Sai Sanjeevani Hospital, Naya Raipur since Inception in Nov 2012, with patients coming from all over the country and other developing countries.

OUT PATIENT SERVICES
(May 2018)

1131 outpatient registrations were recorded during the month - 616 new pediatric cases, and 515 revisit and followup pediatric cases. 762 Patient Pre registrations were recorded this month.

Out of a total of 1541 ECHOs performed this month, 616 are new pediatric cardiac cases as shown in the table below. Also 410 post-operative inpatient & TEE screenings and 515 revisit and medical follow up ECHOs were performed.

INTERVENTIONS

Since the inception of the Hospital in November 2016, 7860 pediatric cardiac outpatients haven been screened and managed with patients coming from 22 states of the country 397 New Pediatric Outpatients were managed in May 2018.

The first Pediatric Cardiac Surgery at the Centre was conducted on 18 April 2017. 377 Pediatric Cardiac surgeries have been conducted since April 2017 at Sri Sathya Sai Sanjeevani International Centre for Child Heart Care & Research, Baghola, Palwal, Haryana. 445 Pediatric Cath Interventions were conducted till May 2018.

This April, Sri Sathya Sai Sanjeevani International Centre for Child Heart Care & Research, Palwal welcomed its first intercontinental patient, a young girl by the name of Nifemi, 10 years of age, from Ogun State in Nigeria.

Nifemi had suffered health complications since birth, struggling to run and play like other children in her school. Her mother juggled raising three other children along with Nifemi's frequent visits to clinics and hospitals. Her father, earning a modest salary as a teacher, sought the support of his friends, relatives and church members to fund the treatment that Nifemi required. This took a toll on their family life, but they had continued to have faith that one day Nifemi would be cured of her condition.

That joyous day finally came on 30th April 2018, when Nifemi was cured Totally Free of Cost, in a land over 8000km away from her home!

Nifemi's mother had heard about Sri Sathya Sai Sanjeevani through a friend, and was in complete disbelief. She could not understand how a hospital could provide free treatment and save her child easily from a disease that she had spent a decade battling. Through a contact person in Nigeria, they managed to make their long journey towards Palwal, India.

At the hospital, Nifemi was diagnosed with Malaligned Perimembraneous VSD with outlet extension bidirectional shunt, and underwent successful surgical closure of VSD. Nifemi's mother was overwhelmed with gratitude towards the hospital, stating that all the staff here exhibited immense love and care for her daughter. She is extremely overjoyed and hopes that Nifemi will grow up to serve and help others. Nifemi herself expressed her desire to become a doctor to save children in similar situations like hers. Both mother and daughter left the hospital earlier this week, and are now safely home in Nigeria, much to the joy of their friends & family!

GIFT OF LIFE ceremony by the Chief Medical Officer, Palwal District, Department of Health & Family Welfare, Government of Haryana.

Yenuli Bhimansadh was hardly a day old when she was diagnosed with TOF. After a check-up every three months at the Colombo Hospital, surgery seemed the only option. The waiting list was around 3000 patients before baby Yenuli could get to be operated upon. Her doctor at Colombo Hospital, Dr Dumindh Samarsinge provided the family with information to a company, United Motors, which arranged for their transport and logistics to India and the doctor helped coordinate with the team at Sri Sathya Sai Sanjeevani, Naya Raipur. Yenuli, now 2 years and 10 months old, has been operated upon on 21^st May, 2018 and today she smiles brightly at her parents on her morning walk.

Her parents are employees with the Government of Sri Lanka. Her father, Mr. Dharmawardane, never forgets to mention that there is no place across the whole world like Sanjeevani hospital, where people are treated irrespective of their class, religion, nationality, ethnicity, sex and any such barriers. Her parents aren't fluent with the communication languages spoken here, including English. Everyone at Sanjeevani however speaks the universal language of love and everyone understands it too. We could not have found a better way. One of us printed a page of words in English translated to Sinhala, just to make it home for them.

Baby Tsion was quite healthy till almost her 3^rd month. When her parents took her for her routine vaccination, CHD was detected. Her father who works as an assistant professor and her mother who was then pursuing her PhD were quite shocked as everything was normal during their pregnancy check-up and later post-natal check-up. Blessing came to them in the form of her mother's PhD guide, Dr Mahesh Kumar Akkaraboyina who guided them to Sri Sathya Sai Sanjeevani Hospital. After some correspondence through email, the family came to Naya Raipur and the child was operated on 25^th May, 2018.

Today the family is all smiles and Tsion smiles too. Her mother, Mahider Birhanu thanks the entire team of doctors and staff at Sanjeevani for all the love they received.
Her father is always ready to help his friend from Sri Lanka with anything the latter might require.

A friendship is formed, for life, through the language of love.

International Nurses Day at Sai Sanjeevani, Palwal

12th May 2018 was a truly memorable day for Sri Sathya Sai Sanjeevani International Centre for Child Heart & Research, Palwal... the buzz and excitement in the hospital was double-fold as we geared up to celebrate International Nurses Day along with preparing for the arrival of our esteemed guest Shri Sunil Gavaskar.

He arrived at the hospital around 2.30pm, warmly welcomed by some of our doctors at the entry way. The Cricket Master was deeply moved as he was taken on a hospital tour where he was eagerly greeted by our Staff and Patients.

At the end of the Hospital tour, two beautiful children who were getting discharged that day were sweetly presented with their "Gift of Life" certificate by Sunil Gavaskar. He made a point to talk to each child individually and guided them about how one can improve concentration skills and achieve success in life.

It was a moment of great joy for our Nurses when the Little Master cut a beautiful cake which was decorated with wickets & cricket pitch to mark International Nurses Day with the Legend Sunil Gavaskar.

Internal Capacity Building
for ICU Staff and Cardiology Trainees

A wetlab was held for the first time in Sri Sathya Sai Sanjeevani Hospital, Naya Raipur on 23 May, 2018 for the cardiology trainees and the ICU staff.

The purpose of this is to provide more exposure to the ICU staff who are the primary caregivers to each child after the surgery. This will not only equip them with knowledge and know-how but will also give them an opportunity to understand the work of the team working in the Operation Theatre thereby making for a better team in providing quality care to each child.

Miss Kym Stewart, Brisbane, Australia

Miss Kym Stewart, surgical assistant and Operating room nurse at Lady Cilanto Hospital, Brisbane, Australia spent three weeks at ssssh. This was her second visit to the hospital. During her stay, she organised a wet lab for the nurses and doctors. She also actively participated in the operating room.
In her spare time, Kym designs and makes jewellery which she then sells to raise money for the hospital.

DEVICE CLOSURE OF AP WINDOW

This month, 2 novel cases were performed in the cardiac catheterization lab at Sri Sathya Sai Sanjeevani Hospital, Naya Raipur viz. Device closure of AP Window.

These 2 childrennamely Mast. Om Singh Baghel, age 6 Y 5 M, Male & Mast. Vansh Raj, age 2 Y 7 M, Male were diagnosed to have AP Window on echocardiogram at Sri Sathya Sai Sanjeevani Hospital, Naya Raipur. Generally, surgical repair is the treatment of choice for this defect. However as the defects in both the children were of moderate size, a decision was taken to close them by percutaneous transcatheter technique in the cath lab.

The procedure was successfully performed and the boys were discharged on the very next day. This is the first time in the history of this region that this rare procedure were done twice with a single month.

Former Director of National Institute of Nutrition, Hyderabad

Former Director of National Institute of Nutrition, Hyderabad- Dr Sesikeran visited Sai Sanjeevani Palwal on 19th May and spent time understanding the totally free of cost healthcare delivery system of Sai Sanjeevani. He later gave a very insightful presentation on NUTRITION EPIGENETICS AND FETAL ORIGINS OF ADULT DISEASE to all our staff members which was followed by Q&A and brief interaction with the Divine Mother and Child Health Programme Team Members.

MOTHER SUPPORT GROUPS

As a part of the monthly activity of the Divine Mother and Child health program, Mother Support Group session continued with the same enthusiasm and initiative from pregnant women and their families in the Village Parsada in Raipur district. Cooking Demonstration was held at the Anganwadi centre with the help of the Anganwadi workers and the Mitanins to demonstrate different energy dense food items that can be prepared from locally available ingredients. There were new registrations this month and thus an innovative snakes and ladders game designed to engage and teach about the danger signs in pregnancy and good health practices was played with the group. A gift of love was given to the new additions-little babies of our expanding Sanjeevani family of this Mother Support Group.

It was noted with great pleasure that the mothers who have attended these earlier sessions have given a positive response and have noticed a significant impact in the health of these children. The team distributed clothes to these babies.

SCHOOL CELEBRATIONS TOGETHER

19TH May was a day of festivity at GPS Baghola while massive book fair was arranged by the school. The school management made a point to felicitate the DMCHP team for their tireless work in facilitating every child in the school getting access to Health Checkup, Nutrition and Supplements which they feel has contributed to higher school attendance, and better results.

This is a news item about Anuj Pratap Singh, son of Havildar Rajendra Singh of Indian Army.

Rajendra discharged his duties at Doklam adjoining Indo China Border also. Anuj underwent surgery by CATH procedure for ASD Closure at Sai Sanjeevani, Naya Raipur and has been discharged.

Sri Sathya Sai Sanjeevani International Centre for Child Heart Care & Research, PALWAL completed ONE YEAR OF SURGERIES on April 18th 2018. To commemorate this beautiful achievement, we had a staff function on 5th May 2018, wherein all staff were recognized for their effort & commitment to the selfless service rendered by Sai Sanjeevani.

The event was aptly titled "Unnati - Celebrating One Year Of Love In Action", inspired by the very first child that was operated upon in our hospital, little Unnati Singh. "Unnati" means Progress, and this was truly venerated by the staggering number of 3000+ outpatients we have seen, and the 750 surgeries & cath interventions that have been completed in just this 1 year alone!

Unnati herself was present, along with her parents who expressed their heartfelt gratitude to Sai Sanjeevani. Last year, there was a very small team that was working tirelessly to get the operation theatre up and running so that she could have her surgery done... and this time she was warmly welcomed by a strong team of nearly 200 staff, many of whom have been there since the very beginning.

Leading up to the event, we had 2 weeks of buzz and excitement, with sports, games, and various cultural activities. The prizes for these events were also presented to the enthusiastic staff, followed by a short programme by some of our staff and staff's family.

After rousing, moving, and emphatic speeches by the senior doctors and our beloved Chairman Shri C. Sreenivas, all of us stood up and pledged ourselves to the ceaseless mission of Sai Sanjeevani - "LOVE ALL SERVE ALL".
