A Cosmic Presentation – Samastha Lokah Sukhino Bhavantu…
Bhagawan's Eternal Mantra for Love, Peace and Harmony for His entire creation found follow up last week when Youth from Pune took up a unique campaign organising a presentation, praying and promoting the Mantra for peace for all the worlds. This presentation, held on Dec 2, 2012 in Sadhu Vaswani Hall, Salisbury Park, Pune was a humble offering by the Youth of Pune at Bhagawan's Lotus Feet. Detailing the same writes Ms Nupur Chaudhuri…
Every individual has a personal responsibility towards the Cosmos…towards creation. There's an immediate and urgent need for this responsibility to be fulfilled. Indeed, it is time to re-establish a harmonious connection with the Universe.
Bearing this in mind, members of the Youth Wing Pune collectively attempted to inculcate and manifest Samastha Lokaah Sukhino Bhavantu in every heart, mind and soul and thereby into the environment…in an attempt to make it a way of life.
Keeping in view Bhagawan's universal teachings, 'A Cosmic Presentation' was a magnified attempt with a mass intent to radiate, channelise, herald in and manifest a harmonious way of living and being that would enhance individual peace as well as promote amity and goodwill for not only all beings upon Mother Earth but the Cosmos as a whole.
Invoking the blessings of Beloved Bhagawan, the programme began at 4.20 pm on December 2 with a yagna based on the 10th Mandala of the Rig Veda (Maitri Sukta). Feeling a need for sadbhav and maitribhav, a kind of kindred reawakening, for expansion of consciousness and increase in compassion, of humane sentiments, of a brotherhood among all living beings, the yagna was held. Understanding the intent for the yagna, the priest explained that he found the appropriate sukta mentioned above – the purpose being to herald in compassion (maitri-bhav) and sat-buddhi by overcoming and transforming the 'shatru-buddhi' and 'rakshas-buddhi' which is currently driving man to inflict monstrous cruelty on humans, including children, women and those aged, as well as plants, animals, birds, and aquatic life…with utter disregard towards Nature and Mother Earth.
Soon after the Purna Aahuti, the environment reverberated harmoniously with the collective chanting of Samastha Lokaah Sukhino Bhavantu 108 times. It was then time to serenade our Beloved Lord, as scores of known and unknown aspirants had done in days gone by – Namdev, Tukaram, Meerabai, Sri Radha…laying their feelings bare, without inhibitions, they did crave for darshans with many a devoted sigh. Every yearning heart on this day did collectively woo, intensely implore and thus invoke the Presence of Beloved Mother Sai…
This adored offering was placed at the cherished Lotus Feet…hymns in adoration of our most loving Mother Sai… Each devotional rendition had a profound prelude to it. Beginning with salutations to Ganesha, it meandered through Kaisey Jiyoon Mey, Sai Baar Baar Tum Aao, Sai Baba Bolo, Aasra Iss Jahan Ka, Sai Teri Charano Ka Dhool Yadi Mil Jaae, Mainey Prem Sey Jyot Jalai Ab Toh Aao Sai, Tumhi Morey Giridhar Nagar, Soona Hogaya Tum Bin, Sai Merey Baba Merey Sunlo Dil Ki Pukaar, Beda Paar Karo, Mohey Sharan Mey Lelo, Aao Pyarey Nayan Hamare, Darshan Deejo Aaj Pyare, to finally merge into Aana Hi Padega. The songs which were sung with great fervour and devotion were more like a prayer from the soul of the singers, some of whom were ex-students, while some were from the Youth Wing, Pune.
Humsafar, Yaadein, Mathuranagarpati Kahey Tum Gokul Jaao were the videos screened. Following this there were two short videos which depicted Bhagawan talking about Samastha Lokaah Sukhino Bhavantu and the initiation of Samastha Jeeva Sukhino Bhavantu. Earlier on 31st August 2008, with absorbing intent, Bhagawan had rephrased 'Lokaah Samastha…' thereby establishing Samastha Lokaah Sukhino Bhavantu…a chant most selfless and true, for Cosmic benefit. On this day Bhagawan, while bequeathing this chant upon humanity, mentioned that Lokaah Samastha refers to only one world…whereas Samastha Lokaah refers to all the worlds…'It is a great, wonderful feeling' – is how Bhagawan expressed the sentiments of joyous expansion and vastness brought about by this sacrosanct phrase.
On 20th July 2009, Bhagawan conferred harmony to every atom in the Cosmos as a whole when he made us chant Samastha Jeeva Sukhino Bhavantu (may all the beings in all the worlds be at peace) for a few days, consequently reverting back to Samastha Lokaah Sukhino Bhavantu.
Let us spread the message of our Lord,
Let us live the message of our Lord,
Let us live only to please our Lord…
Every moment let us surrender selflessly at the
Lotus Feet of our Beloved God…Let us glow
and gush forth as instruments of compassion
of the Creator for His creation…
Most certainly this is what Bhagawan intended
for me and you -
II Samastha Lokaah Sukhino Bhavantu… For
Consciousness to expand and compassion to
increase…and envelope all beings.
Let us embrace life, the elements five, every
atom of creation the Cosmos through…may
God bless every being…sentient or
insentient…embodied or disembodied…
with all that is magnificent, wonderful and
true…oh! what bliss…for this harmoniously
includes me and you…
II Samastha Lokaah Sukhino Bhavantu II
II Samastha Jeeva Sukhino Bhavantu II
II Samastha Anu Bhavantu II
II Samastha Brahmand Sukhino Bhavantu II
The programme concluded with Aarati offered to Beloved Bhagawan.
