9. How to chant
9. Laxmi is of the goddesses whose mantras are relatively easy to learn and which tend to give rapid results. All you need to do is sit comfortably with your eyes open or closed, as you prefer, and repeat any of these mantras. Generally one would do this in multiples of 108 , but others prefer to repeat the mantra for a certain period of time. The repetition can be out loud, whispered, or silently. Again, let your own preference be your guide.
10. How to chant
10. Consistency is important. While any level of repetition has its benefit, establishing a pattern of say, 108 times every day, and maintaining that over a traditional 40 day period starting from the day of Dhanteras or Diwali bring the greatest benefit. But most important is getting started. Even if your goal is only 10 consecutive days, accomplishing that goal will bring substantial benefit.
11. How to Make It More Effective, More Powerful And More Useful
11. Facing east while Mantra chanting gives special benefits. Chanting of mantra 108 times makes it a Siddha Mantra for the chanter. Light a Diya (lamp) of oil. If possible offer lotus flower to an idol or a picture of Goddess Laxmi. Finally when chanting has over, sit for a few minutes with your eyes closed and thank Maa Laxmi for all her love . ... om om om ...
