DISCURSO DE SATHYA SAI BABA EN SINGAPORE 25/6/2015

Sukshma Discourse in Singapore on 25/6/15.

Sukshma discourse was communicated and translated by Madhusudan.

He explained that Swami was seated in the chair and was wearing a white robe.

The world is a dream - maya. Only God is the Truth. Seek the feet of Lord. Don't be arrogant of your wealth, association with people and youth. All of which can disappear in no time.

This was the great message given by Adi Shankara. At 8, Adi Shankara told his mother that he does not want to live a social life like his parents had. He rather take the path of sanyasa and spread the ideals of the ancient Sanatana Dharma. His mother was worried. She initially brushed it aside. But he persisted and learnt the Vedas and scriptures.

He imparted this to the people within his short life span of 32 years old.

He wrote many compositions of which Bhaja Govindam was his greatest. In it he tells the people to hold on to God's feet and not to the temporary worldly illusions.

This world is temporary. When you enter this temporary world, how can you expect permanent things? This world which is temporary can never give you permanent happiness. God alone is permanent.

If you want permanent things, you must ask God who is permanent.

The world is a just a reflection of God - a shadow. It's foolish to catch the shadow. But if you get the object, you also get the shadow with it.

Swami told a story of a great prince who invited his subjects to his birthday party. He announced that anyone can take anything from his palace. People went mad taking whatever they can like gold, silk robes etc.

The prince saw a young lady who was standing in a corner and not taking anything. He went to her and asked if she didn't like anything that he had kept there. She caught his hand and said that she wanted him. She said that if she gets him, she gets the wealth too. If she gets the king, she gets the kingdom as well.

She said that things will go away in no time. She will have to worry about caring or protecting it. She doesn't want to have all these problems. She only wants to hold onto him and asked him to hold onto his kingdom and his wealth.

The prince was very impressed. He said that yes, he will give her, himself. She became the queen.

In Bhagavad Gita, it's mentioned that there are 4 kinds of devotees:

1. Some come to God for relief of the distress of pain or suffering.

2. Some come to God for seeking wealth, name, fame, and progeny

3. Some come inquiring. They want to get answers. They want the permanent and knowledge about God. God gives them the answers they want.

4. Some come to seek God. God gives Himself away to them.

Young people like Nachiketa, Markendaya, Shankara, Vivekananda etc. sought only God. God gave Himself to them.

Some of you are married and some of you are not. Those who are married will understand this story better. Those who are not married better learn something.

This man went to get some coffee powder for his wife, which he couldn't. The man was very worried as he couldn't go home without it. Looking at his plight God appeared and told him that he was sitting under a kalpathru or wish-fulfilling tree and can wish for anything.

God comes to those who pray very hard. Nobody can pray harder than a husband in trouble!

The man then told the tree that if you really are a wish fulfilling tree, give me coffee powder. A packet of coffee powder dropped. He went home very happy thinking he has found fulfillment in life.

Sometimes we shortchange ourselves and ask God for silly things. The kalpathru tree which gave coffee powder can also give liberation. However, the man had so much fear of his wife that all he wanted was the coffee powder.

People face many situations: Some will be good, some will be difficult, some will be full of joy and some full of sorrow. In such times what should we ask God?

Should you ask that your wife becomes kinder, your boss more loving, your friend more caring or for you to get a better job, a bigger car, a bigger house? This is like being the man sitting under the kalpathru and asking for coffee powder. Swami is here to fulfill the highest of wishes.

Seek the highest. Ask for God Himself. He is ever willing to give Himself away to those who ask for Him.

Unfortunately most people come to God to ask for other things. Be like the lady who knew that if she had the king, she'd have the kingdom and wealth. If you have God, you have the creation as well. Creation is just the shadow of God. If you seek God and get God, you can get the world also.

Thinking the world is permanent is an illusion. The body is the cause of feeling this way. It is merely a water bubble. It rises from the ocean, which is God, and thinks it's separate from the ocean.

It is filled with air. When the bubble bursts, it merges back into the ocean. As long as the bubble exists on the water, so does the reflection of the bubble.

You want to see Swami separate from you. Swami says, "No!"

Seeing anything as separate from or other than you is merely ignorance - an illusion.

Reflection, reaction, resound.

Just as a man entering a room of mirrors, sees his reflection in all the mirrors. When he smiles at himself, he gets back thousands of smiles reflected at him. He'll be extremely happy.

If a dog enters, it will see many dogs in the room. It will start barking out of fear. The more it barks, the more barks it receives as it's own reaction.

What you see in the difference in various things in creation is only an illusion, and living in conflict. The truth is that it is the same God. It is the same Self, which reflects in all of creation.

To know this truth you must do two things

1. Discrimination (Viveka) - Discriminate between:

a) What is right - what is wrong

b) What is good - what is bad

c) What is permanent - what is impermanent

2. Detachment (Vairagya) - to have the courage to give up that which is not permanent, is untruth, is not good, or is not right.

Most of us have this discrimination. We understand what will take us towards God, what is truth and what is permanent. Detachment is moving away from that which is untruth, impermanent, unreal or will lead us away from God.

Both are very important. Discrimination is the theory. Detachment is the practice. Knowing the theory will not make you pass the subject. You must also go through the practice of the subject.

Give up the bad company. Join the company of the noble. Keep doing good work - day and night. Always discriminate between what is real or unreal. For detachment give up that which is untruth and take only that which is truth.

Spirituality, as Swami Vivekananda said, is not for the weak in heart. It is for the courageous. You must have the courage to give up that which is not true.

Believing that your beauty, wealth, friends, family, name and fame are true and permanent is only fooling yourself.

The one who dreams of being a king but in reality he might still be a pauper. Believing in the dream that you're a king, you can't become a king.

Believing that your beauty, wealth, friends, family, name and fame are true and permanent is only fooling yourself.

The one who dreams of being a king but in reality he might still be a pauper. Believing in the dream that you're a king, you can't become a king.

Once a king dreamt that he had a palace floating in the sky. The palace was full of all the things in the world. Whatever he wished immediately appeared in the palace.

When he woke up, he called all his ministers and told that he dreamt he had a palace in the sky and that he wanted a palace like that.

All the ministers said that it is not possible. But the king did not agree. He said that the dream was real and he must have the palace. He told them to get anybody who can make that palace for him.

They got many people but they failed. King became very angry. So they called someone who was extremely intelligent.

The king told him that he dreamt of a palace and he knows that it exists and he must have the palace.

He said, "Fine, king. But I also have something to tell you. I am accusing you of stealing my wealth."

The king said, "When did I steal your wealth?"

He said, "Yesterday in my dream, you stole my wealth."

The king replied, "How can you say this. That is a dream! How can a dream be true?"

The man said, "That is what I am telling you. This is also a dream. How can a palace in a dream be true?

That's when the king understood.

Being in a dream and thinking it's real, will only disappoint you when you wake up.

Therefore think of the reality. That you're already are one. Everything is one.

You're not weak. You're full of courage. You're full of strength. And thinking of Me you fight your battle.

You cannot escape the path of action. You must constantly engage in action. This is reality. But whatever action you do, if you seek the rewards, then it binds you to this world. But if you do it selflessly and offer it to God, not worrying about the results of the action, it'll liberate you from the same world.

A yogi always merges his mind with God. Such a man is always out of the cycle of birth and death. Because all that he does is only for the sake of God. That's when your karma becomes karma yoga. That is your action becomes an offering to God, and it does not bind you anymore.

As young people you've been given three important powers:

1. Shakti - strength, which is your hands

2. Bhakti - your devotion to God, that is your heart

3. Buddhi - that is intelligence, that is your head

If you use this shakti, bhakti, buddhi, that is hands, head and heart, you'll be able to attain mukhti, that is liberation.

Without these three, it is very difficult to attain liberation. Now that you're young, your hands and legs are firm, your body is strong, you should be able to do more work, good work, selfless work. Using heart, that is full of devotion and love for all, and head that is intelligent. You should engage your hands in selfless actions.

This is what Swami says. Hands of Janaka. Janaka was a great king who was a yogi, very competent hands. Heart of Buddha, that is full of compassion. And head of Shankara, that is an intelligent mind.

All these three things, when they come together, you can achieve anything.

God has given you this strong body, this beautiful body to do so much of work. It's like a plantain leaf, all kinds of tasty dishes are served on this leaf. If you invite others to come to eat the food and then offer the leftovers to God, it is not correct.

Having spent your youth in the wrong ways by inviting kama, krodha, lobha, moha, mada, matsarya, then this whole body is now battered with no strength left in it, it's merely a bag of flesh and bones. It cannot even carry itself. At that stage, in the old age, you come and fall at the feet of God to rescue you from this situation. How is it possible?

Should the fresh food, should not the fresh plantain leaf first be offered to God? Likewise, all of you come in this way to offer yourselves to God. Let God be the first to have a meal. Let God be the first to use you anyway He wants to do. Let every action, every thought, every word of yours be guided by God and God alone. He will take you on the path of dharma. He will not allow you to stray away from that which is true.

In a car, you can only have one driver. If there are two drivers driving the car, you can imagine what will happen to the passengers, to the car, to the drivers, and also to the people outside. Only one driver can drive the car.

If you give your mind to the steering wheel, then your mind will drive the way it wants. It'll take you to the wrong roads, it'll break the rules, it'll drive in a careless way, it'll hurt itself and many others, as well as damage the car repeatedly. The journey will be incomplete.

Whereas, you should give your steering wheel to the heart, which is the seat of God. Let your heart drive the body, that is the car. You be a passenger, then it'll drive you correctly, on the path of dharma. It will take you to your destination, which you are supposed to reach without hurting anybody and without hurting yourself in the process. It'll keep you on the path of dharma.

You've got a car which is fresh and new, should be given the right driver. Mind must listen to the heart. Heart should be the Master. Mind should be listening to the Master. Mind decides to take the body, the way it wants, not listening to the heart, then there'll be accidents.

If you let the heart be the Master and mind be a servant, then this "car" will be going only on the path of dharma. Definitely reaches it's destination.

Mind is a very good servant but bad Master. Don't make it a Master. You master the mind, and become the Mastermind.

This is a very, very precious time. There are some people who are older, also here. We all will tell you the truth. If you spend your life, in the right way, in the service of God, you'll never regret. You'll find ultimate fulfillment. And when you leave this world, you'll leave it with lot of happiness and harmony.

People who fear that, are people who realize that they have wasted their lives, in wrong pursuits. And when the final time comes, they will not know how to make up for that which is lost.

Many students do not study throughout the year and when the examinations come, they burn the midnight oil. They sacrifice food, they sacrifice sleep and worse, they sacrifice their bath. Can you eat many years food in a single day? Can you digest it all? You cannot! Can you take the whole year's syllabus in one single night? Can you remember it all? You cannot!

Likewise, if you have not lived your whole life in the path of the monk, at the last moment you try to live the life of a monk, it will not really happen.

Brahmacharya - the student age

Grhasta - the age of a householder

Vanaprashta - the age of the servitor of society

Finally the Sanyasa - the retired soul from the entire thing

That is the way you can reach God.

If you have not studied your alphabets, you can't make words. If you can't make words, you can't form sentences. You can't form sentences, you can't write.

Likewise everything is built on the other. As students if you have learnt well, not just the vidya of this world but also the vidya of the other world (Atma Vidya), then you can lead a very hearted life of a householder. Husband and wife become like two wheels of a bicycle. Both married to the other, towards God.

Then, if you've led your householder's life well and you've brought up your children in a way that they become close to God, you can next, once your children are ready to take care of themselves, you have to move on to serve the society.

Once you serve the society you will develop a lot of detachment. You will develop a lot of selflessness, purity.

Only then you'll be ready for the fourth stage of complete sanyasa which is detachment from everything. It is like alphabets, words, sentences and paragraphs.

Ultimately, the last moment, simply if you rely to God, say calling His names, nothing is going to be achieved. You must have lead the life, in accordance to the scriptures, and accordance to the right way. Then only you can finally liberate yourself.

Swami mentioned the names of a few people who at a very young age have achieved a lot such as Swami Vivekananda, Adi Shankararcharya. All these people at a young age have achieved a lot leaving behind a legacy of truth. Neither by action nor by progeny nor by wealth but by sacrifice alone one can become immortal.

What is Immortality? Not merger with God. Immortality is to leave behind your good works through which you'll be remembered forever.

Some people think that if they have children or grandchildren they will be remembered. Let me ask you a question? How many of you remember your great grandfather's name? I'm not even asking beyond that! Your great grandfather must have thought that if I have great grandchildren, I'll be remembered forever. But that is not true. The only way you can be remembered is through the good works that you do.

Saints and sages are still worshipped in all parts of the world for the good that they have left behind. It is only through acts of sacrifice and charity, you can become immortal.

Use this opportunity well when you have head, heart and hand all three in place. Think and do everything in accordance to love God. Discriminate between what will take you closer to God and what will take you away from God. Develop this strength and courage to detach yourself from that which will take you away from God and attach yourself only to that which will take you towards God.

As an individual, at times you may waver, at times you may falter and you may even get tired walking but together as a group you can do much more. As an individual to Samashti, that is to group. From there to Shrishti, that is creation and then from Shrishti to Parameshti that is to Creator. That is how you can reach me. Individuals must all get together. As a group you must work for all creation. Through this method you'll be able to reach God.

4. Algunos vienen a buscar a Dios.

Pida a Dios mismo.

Swami dice, "¡No!"

4. Algunos vienen a buscar a Dios.

Pida a Dios mismo.

Swami dice, "¡No!"

Sai Ram

It was another one of those strange days where we weren't sure whether it would rain, be cloudy or clear up. It did rain very slightly and after a while the sky could be seen. It seems warm until about 6 when the wind picked up.

It was a great place to be. There was a protective shield around PremDeep as well as a much bigger covering more of campus.

Many students came, the red carpet was rolled out. We were sure that Swami would walk by.

As we sat we felt out heart opening so that we felt more loving. It was great being here.

We watched as people entered the front double gate with the OM symbol.

We had some thoughts:

The Gate opens to those who were chosen to enter.
If you are able to enter, then you were chosen.

Even as it was windy and people were moving about there was quietness.
An inner Peace.
Comes from being open to the vibration here.
Heart welcomes the Love
Thank you Baba.

Love is the ocean,
Love is the ocean
I am one with thee
Once a tiny lake now a might Sea
Oh, Baba I am one with thee

MY heart of the glory that is beyond description,
The only way to know it is to become it.

All are here at his command

After Rudram, there were bhajans. During which Swami entered.

We become One

While bhajans are sung, there was the silence of OM radiating through us.

Narasimha came to speak praising that Swami was the ultimate example of Love and Compassion. In the past two years, Swami, in his subtle body, has visited 5 continents and will visit the 6th next week.

He has traveled all over the world to clarify what was right and wrong. People are enmeshed in their bodies and the physical world. They are ignorant of the real world of Love. He is showing people the way of the Heart.

Swami manifested in this form to speak to mankind. Other people have also come for this purpose such as Rama, Krishna, Buddha, Jesus

We continue to create problems as individuals and for the world. The milk of human kindness has vanished from the hearts of all. Listen to the voice of God. Have selfless love for God.

Should never expect anything from god. People always come to god because they want something. Seek the glory of god. Seek the joy of god.

He has visited 6 continents. Soon he will visit the 7th continent which is Latin America. Devotees of Mexico, Argentina and other countries have been asking Swami to come. Since they want him to come, he will come. Because his Love and Compassion is unconditional, he will come.

Last Tuesday morning Swami announced that he would start a Pre University College for girls at Alike. Swami's heart melted when a young girl student speaking before Him made a passionate plea to be able to continue her studies at Alike as the girls have no place to go and her family lacks the money to send her. Education is free now but would be financially prohibited if it cost.

Sai is the master parent. He takes care of all his children. They have everything.

They went to Sri Lanka last weekend. They were very happy with the arrangements.
They were put up in a villa. On Friday, there were many festivities that evening. There were also many dignitaries.

Next morning there were more dignitaries. One long time devotee of Sai was in tears. Swami asked him if he was still living in the big house. He said they moved into a medium house.

The team liked the seacoast and the clean green atmosphere of Colombo. You think of Sri Lanka as a Buddhist country. The people were very nice and friendly with a smile. They were always hospitable.

The Soul of Buddha has touched everyone.

They had two sessions on Saturday with about 1200 people. Each session of 600 people. People were allowed to go only to one session.

Three months ago, Swami told someone that he would visit Sri Lanka in July.

Sri Lanka is very dear to his heart.

Swami announced that the wanted to build an ashram there along with a school, a general hospital and a super specialty hospital and more. At this point, a man who was from Singapore but born in Sri Lanka offered Swami 200 acres free. Swami said that 50 acres was enough.

Next day – Sunday morning, Sai met with youth of the area. In the afternoon, Swami met with about 300 workers who traveled a long distance to be in his presence. Another day of Love and Compassion for all.

They returned to Muddenahalli on Sunday evening. On Monday, they went to Alike where 1000 students were waiting. Over the three days there he met with different groups.

Swami Discourse was communicated to Madhu and translated by Narasimha.

Men and women form an attachment to each which they think is Love. It is like a disease because it is not real love.

True Love is selfless.
True Love is devotional

A true devotee wants God to be happy. He wants God to be always happy and joyful. Not my joy but God. All beings are important.

Make God happy and everyone else will be happy. God loves everyone.
You too must love the people around you.

There is the story of the king whose son wanted to marry the beautiful daughter of a worker. The marriage was agreed upon but to done after 30 days. During that time the woman became emaciated and not very pleasant to look at or be with. The Son greeted her carriage with great joy but when he opened the door he was repulsed.
Using her wisdom, she showed him the fallacy of relying on beauty and how it fades.
Her wisdom illuminated him. He accepted her as his Guru. With Love you look beyond the physical.

Devotees develop attachment to their bodies. But pain and pleasure should be treated as equal.

Yoga is equality of mind.

Many devotee act with God as though it is a business transaction. If you do this for me than I will do thus and thus. This exchange is commerce.

Love is giving and forgiving.
Love never receives.

Devotees come to God to fulfill their desires.
They bargain with Swami that if he does such and such then they will surrender.
BUT what they really want is for God to surrender.
They want something from God.

Some people think that if you give God 10 rupees he will give you 100 back.
There is no such God.

This is just a desire of the devotee.
Once you give your word to God, you must keep it.
If you don't, God will collect it in his way.

God always keeps promises.
You have to have a steady mind to be a devotee.
No selfishness
No desire for material items.

Only be selfless for god.
Devotees have faith that God will give us what we need, when and at the right time.
Selfless.

Commit to Swami with selflessness.
Surrender with empty hands.

God transform.
World of Swami is the world of Truth.

You get Sai - You get the world.
The world is the shadow while Sai is the object causing the shadow.

Go to God
Pray for God and God alone.

A true devotee will be void of any desires.
Desire only for Swami.

Have faith that he will look after your welfare.

A true devotee must surrender.
Whatever God wants, he will give him.
Only this kind is very dear to me.

The body will perish some day. You will lose it.

True devotees does not aspire for material items
and has to have complete faith.

Spirituality is permanent. Everything else is temporary. Your mental abilities and your body will vanish.

True devotees do not aspire for material things.
Have to have faith.

The student at Alike. Her prayer was not from ego.
All the time Sai is ready to give.
There was an educational need, Sai gave.
Swami cares about education.

Swami asks only one thing  -  Selfless Love.

Wives are very strong spiritually but not so strong physically.
Because of their spiritual strength, Swami protects them.

Where there is devotion there is strength.

All kinds of wrong things are done to women.
Their strength is their devotion.

The new school will come up next year. Every year there will be more schools.

Devotion will protect you.

All devotees should have faith and devotion.
