Two more nights to go and Puttaparthi will wake up to celebrate the 88th Birthday of our beloved Lord. All arrangements have been made. The whole ashram is glowing with colourful lights and the programmes in Sai Kulwanth hall are just amazing even though bit prolonged which is understandable considering the occasion.
MILD TREMORS FELT IN PUTTAPARTHI:
Around 4.45 pm on November 19,2013 mild tremors were felt in Puttaparthi and surrounding areas. All the residents of Puttaparthi especially those living in apartments ran out of their houses in fear and anxiety. There were few others who didn't even notice the tremor. The rumour mongers started spreading some weird rumors saying few patients' beds were moved from one corner to the other in the hospital and so on. But in actuality, there were no reports of loss of life,injuries or damage of property. . May Swami always keep us safe in His loving arms
The highlight of the Ladies day 2013 on 19th November was the primary school children's performance which stole the show. For almost 6 or 7 years they have been doing great in terms of story selection and extra effects like costume, lights and video on the back ground. This year, it was the story of our beloved Lord right from Sage Bharadwaja and one could easily see the hardwork put up by the children whom Swami loves so much.
On November 20th it was the turn of Hindustani Vocalist Padmaji who shared her experiences of her previous visit to Prasanthi in the year 2001 when she had the great fortune to sing in the Divine presence.
On November 21st, It was the turn of Chinese singer Chiu Sen's Carnatic concert. It was an amazing feeling to listen to a Non-Indian tongue who wouldn't had any exposure to Indian Languages (before he started learning music) to sing so fluently and with no trace of his Chinese accent. This was enough proof that he definitely would have his strong roots from South India in his previous births. Accompanied by musicians from Swami's institute and few other members of his own team, Brother Chiu Sen stole every one's hearts with his exemplary singing talent which i guess is a rare thing. This man definitely has a bright future in the years to come..
Today also marked the 22nd Anniversary of Swami's Super specialty hospital in Puttaparthi. Even for some one like Isaac Tigrett who has been closely associated with this hospital, would be wondering how 22 years have already passed. Ever since its inception, the hospital has been a power house of wonders and miracles, a " Temple of healing" indeed.
Commemorating this ocassion, Dr.Voleti Chowdary, who I guess is one of the very few cardiologist with big mustaches shared his sweet story of his initial encounters with Swami which was inspiring indeed.
Dr.Voleti who was one of the leading cardiologists in the world, had a very flamboyant life in California with all the material comforts one could ask for. Inspite of being born just 150 Kilometers from Puttaparthi, he only came to know of Baba after becoming one of the leading cardiologists overseas.
Remembering his first encounters with Bhagawan he said the first time He saw me, He asked " why have you lost weight?", as if Swami had seen him before. His question was right because he had actually lost weight at that time.
Dr.Voleti also shared a very inspiring conversation with Baba , when he was called into the interview room he said, "Baba i have every thing in my life. I want peace. Swami in His characteristic style of replying back in your own words, said, " Remove the I, ego, Want the Desire and only Peace remains.
For a famous doctor like Dr.Voleti, it was the highest knowledge which is only realised after reading volumes and volumes of sacred texts.
He later own briefed on the excellent service the hospitals of Baba are doing to the society and also about the state of the art facilities that are being provided.
After his talk, followed a 20 minute video where all the info on the hospital was showed including the mention about the 32 channel MRI machine, which only few hand full of hospitals around the world have it till date.
May Swami bless all the noble souls who are rendering their services in the hospitals with utmost devotion. They are real messengers of Sai for translating His words into action..
Tomorrow will be a busy day as the 32nd Convocation of Swami's institution will be held in the morning and much awaited Convocation drama in the evening
In the morning of 23rd November, after the student's programme, a special postal stamp in the name of Swami will be released in Sai Kulwanth Hall and as far as i know the book store in the ashram is making arrangements for the sale of these stamps. The Annual report of Sri Sathya Sai Central Trust will also be released.
