Railway Minister Lalu Prasad Yadav, came to Shirdi for ''Darshan'' of Sai Baba, before pressing the electronic button at Sai Nagar Railway station
to formally Inaugurate the service between Shirdi and Mumbai.
Mr Prasad also gave away cash awards worth Rs 20 lakh to railway employees for completing the Rs 80 crore project in a record time.
He also announced new train services to Shirdi from Lucknow, Patna, Delhi and Hyderabad in future.
He also presented the cash prizes of Rs 10,000 each to the driver and the guard of the train.

- NEW MUMBAI TO SHIRDI DIRECT TRAIN IN 6 HOURS -

Mumbai: Chief minister Ashok Chavan will lay the foundation stone for the Rs 260-crore airport
at Shirdi in Ahmednagar district on 27th August`2010 and also flag off 3 Trains on the same day.

Chavan said the new Shirdi-Mumbai-Shirdi train will operate :
From Mumbai: On Monday, Wednesday and Saturday
From Shirdi: On Tuesday, Thursday and Sunday 

The Travel Time will be only 6 hours.

Further, the 2 Trains between Manmad and Secunderabad
as well as Manmad and Kakinada will be extended up to Shirdi.

If we provide Rail & Air connectivity, it will facilitate the devotees visit to Shirdi.
In addition, we will develop other infrastructure in the entire area, Chavan said.

The Shirdi Saibaba Temple Trust headed by senior NCP leader S Sasane has besides providing rooms for the devotees.

It has constructed a state-of-the-art Superspeciality Hospital in Shirdi.
Ours is one of the best Superspeciality Hospitals in north Maharashtra. We are catering to weaker sections of the society, Sasane said.

Now, Devotees of Sai Baba will be able to take a Direct Super-fast Train from Dadar`Mumbai to Sainagar`Shirdi from Friday 27th August`2010.
As, this Train is super-fast, it will only stop at 6 Station in-between so the Time taken to reach Shirdi will be 6 hrs only
as compared to the earlier Shirdi Fast Passenger/1333 from CST`Mumbai to Sainagar`Shirdi,
which took had 22 halts and took around 12hrs to reach Shirdi.


SCHEDULE:

- 2131 Dadar`Mumbai to Sainagar`Shirdi Express -
Every Mondays, Wednesdays and Saturdays.
Departure from Dadar`Mumbai: At 21:45 hrs (09:45 pm)
Arrival at Shirdi: The Next Day at 03:55 hrs (03:55 am)

Shirdi: Chief Minister Ashok Chavan Flagged off the special Sainagar Shirdi-Dadar Train at Sainagar Shirdi.
The Inaugural Train was bedecked with Flowers and Festoons with a huge poster of the Sai Baba on the Engine.

Chavan also announced the extension of the Manmad- Secunderabad Express, Manmad-Kakinada Town Express
and Manmad- Vijayawada Express up to Shirdi to facilitate devotees.

Speaking on the occasion, he said that the new Train service connecting Mumbai with Shirdi would prove to
be a boon for millions of Sai Baba devotees from India and abroad who throng there round the year.
